Overview
RocFall3 is a 3D statistical analysis program designed to assess slopes at risk for rockfalls. It determines energy, velocity, and bounce height envelopes for the entire slope, as well as rock endpoints and impact locations. The software can graph distributions and automatically calculate comprehensive statistics. RocFall3 allows users to perform both Lumped Mass and Rigid Body rockfall analyses.
Features and Capabilities
- 3D Statistical Analysis: Assess slopes at risk for rockfalls using 3D statistical methods.
- Energy, Velocity, and Bounce Height Calculation: Determine energy, velocity, and bounce height envelopes for the entire slope.
- Rock Endpoint and Impact Location Identification: Identify rock endpoints and impact locations on the slope.
- Graphical Distribution and Statistics: Graph distributions and automatically calculate comprehensive statistics.
- Lumped Mass and Rigid Body Analysis: Perform both Lumped Mass and Rigid Body rockfall analyses.
- 3D Model Creation: Construct rockfall models by importing ground surfaces from geological modeling or mine planning software.
- Terrain Generator: Import digital elevation models directly from satellite data or build surfaces from point cloud data, elevation data, polyline lofting, or extrusion.
- 3D Barrier Design and Analysis: Model barrier geometries in 3D and analyze spatial impacts using trajectory height and energy heatmaps.
- Integration with RocFall2: Import 2D models from RocFall2 and extrude them to create 3D models, or define 2D sections in RocFall3 and batch export them to RocFall2.
- Visualization Tools: View rock paths, trajectories, and final stopping locations; contour data like energy and bounce height; plot runout distributions and spatial distribution of stopping locations.
- Barrier Impact Analysis: Graph data from impacting rocks along barriers in your model and visualize them on your 3D model to understand where a barrier is most affected by rockfalls.
