Hungary’s Real-Time Invoice Reporting (RTIR), also known as Online Számla, is a mandatory system introduced by the National Tax and Customs Administration of Hungary (NAV). It requires businesses to report invoicing data in real time to the tax authority. Initially, from 2018 to 2020, the regulation applied to B2B invoices with VAT amounts exceeding HUF 100,000. Since July 1, 2020, the scope has expanded to include all invoices—B2B, B2C, and cross-border—regardless of the VAT amount. The primary goal of RTIR is to combat VAT fraud and enhance tax compliance. Businesses must integrate their invoicing software with NAV’s Online Invoice System (OIS) to ensure real-time data transmission. The SNI Hungary RTIR solution is a fully integrated SAP module that automates this process, eliminating the need for third-party tools or manual intervention.
