Your security portal for NAS
Security Center checks for weaknesses on your QNAP NAS and proactively monitors and analyzes NAS status, file activity, and potential security threats – offering you instant security measures against data loss and vulnerabilities.
Check, scan, safeguard your NAS
File activity monitoring
If Security Center detects a large number of changed files, it instantly enables security measures against threats and sends you alert notifications.
Active security measures
If unusual file activities or abnormal changes occur, the NAS immediately takes action to protect your data, including entering read-only mode, creating a snapshot, or pausing snapshot scheduling.
NAS status scanning
Choose from default security policies (Basic/Intermediate/Advanced) and run manual/scheduled security checkups. You can also customize your own security policy based on the security requirements of your network environment.
Instant alert notification
Set up risk alerts based on your security policies and receive alerts via email or mobile push notifications. This ensures that you don’t miss important risk assessment information.
Anti-virus software integration
Install virus scanning and malware removal software to ensure the complete protection of your NAS.
Unusual file activity monitoring
Security Center provides you with active security measures to ensure your data security. It proactively monitors and detects unusual file activity on your NAS. You can easily track the average count of unusual and modified files during a specific period via user-friendly dashboard. You can also customize security measures (Protection/Backup/Interruption) against ransomware threats, malware attacks, or human error to minimize the risk of data loss when unusual file activity occurs.
Customize instant security measures against threats for unusual file activities
Instant protection – Enable read-only mode
Switch volumes to read-only mode to prevent files from being modified.
Instant backup – Create snapshots
Create volume snapshots to record the normal status of your system and data – allowing you to revert the entire volume whenever needed.
Instant interruption – Pause snapshot scheduling
Pause volume snapshot scheduling to prevent an excessive number of abnormal snapshot files from crowding out normal snapshot storage space.
A dashboard for staying ahead of security threats
The dashboard provides an overview of Security Checkup and major security components of the NAS. You can enable/disable components, check the last operation dates, read reports, or run a specific function/component with a single click.
Run scheduled or manual security checkups
Security checkups can be run manually or on a scheduled basis to ensure maximum protection. The schedule can be set in multiple ways (daily/weekday/weekend/specific days) to ensure your work stays uninterrupted. If you click scan results, Security Center will take you to relevant settings pages so that you can make changes to secure your NAS.
