For the first time ever, RealVNC Connect Version 8 brings together both RealVNC Viewer and Server into a single, unified desktop application making it easier than ever to deploy and use RealVNC Connect. 

Designed for use by everybody

Whether you’re lending remote support to someone or rolling out remote access for non-IT workers, the last thing you want is for them to be tripped up by a clunky user interface. That’s why RealVNC Connect V8 is designed with intuitiveness and ease of use in mind, allowing anybody to get up and running without fuss and frustration.

All the tools you need, right where you need them.

RealVNC Connect v8 is packed full of useful tools that you can use during a remote session to work effectively and efficiently. Redesigned Toolbar The toolbar gives you quick, ready access to all the key tools you need during a remote support session. And in Connect v8, you can now unpin the toolbar to minimise it and move it wherever’s best for on-screen.  File Transfer Send and retrieve files with ease thanks to the redesigned File Transfer tool. Featuring a dual-pane design, you have a side-by-side view of your local and remote devices and access to the file directory for effortless two-way file sharing during a session. Chat RealVNC Connect features two-chat that lets users on either side of the connection chat in-session, without needing to use an alternative tool. Ideal for sharing instructions when supporting someone or collaborating with another user. Session recording Maintain a record of truth that you can use as part of an audit trail or to create training content. Session recordings are saved locally and can be mandated so that all sessions are automatically recorded. Multi-Monitor Make the most of devices with connected monitors with Multi-monitor support. Connect v8 even lets  you break out each remote monitor into its own window, letting you arrange your remote monitors how you’d like on your local computer.

Always know who's connecting in

Code Connect requires any guest users to create a RealVNC Connect account of their own (a subscription isn’t necessary) to protect against anonymous users accessing your devices.  

Safeguard access with self-expiring session codes

A Code Connect session code is self-expiring, lasting only 2 minutes before its replaced with a new code. This ensures that there are no persistent codes that can be misused for unsolicited access requests.  

Access that's strictly invite-only

By design, devices licensed to a RealVNC Connect Team cannot be discovered and Code Connect maintains this principal of privileged access. The session code is the only means by which to request access to a device. 

Presence

Remove the guesswork from connecting to devices with Presence. Status indicators for each device lets you see, with a glance, which ones are active or unavailable. 

Multi-Level Device Lists (coming Late Spring 2025)

Organize your devices much more efficiently with Multi-Level Device Lists. New in Connect v8, this feature helps you structure your devices by sub-folders to let you organize devices by department, location, project team — whatever category you like. 

Favorites

Make sure your regularly connected to devices are in easy reach. Favorites lets you create folders of devices that are saved to your personal user profile.  DEVICE MANAGEMENT
