Developed by Matelys in collaboration with INSA Lyon, PipingCell is designed to measure and analyze pressure pulsations within piping systems. It supports both intrusive and non-intrusive measurement techniques, allowing users to map pressure-induced dynamic stresses along pipes and monitor the hydraulic state of internal fluids in connected circuits. The software can characterize sources of pressure pulsations, such as pumps and compressors, and is compatible with a wide range of pipe materials (e.g., steel, cast iron, copper, PVC) and diameters (from 10 mm to 2 m). PipingCell offers post-processing capabilities, including extrapolation of pressure pulsations along the pipe from localized measurements, measurement of hydraulic circuit impedance, and determination of the actual speed of sound in the internal fluid or gas. It also features comprehensive project organization and computes actual fluid-structure coupling. Users can choose between classical intrusive sensors or external strain sensors, the latter allowing for measurements without perforating the piping.
