Overview

Freetrade’s SIPP is a self-invested personal pension (SIPP) offered as part of the Freetrade Plus subscription. It lets individual investors consolidate pensions, choose from thousands of global stocks, ETFs, mutual funds and gilts, and manage their pension from the Freetrade mobile and web apps. Basic-rate tax relief is claimed on behalf of customers and added to the SIPP account. The SIPP has a fixed low subscription cost as part of the Plus plan and supports pension transfers, but some pension types (e.g., defined benefit / safeguarded benefits) cannot be transferred.

• Pension Transfers: You can transfer eligible personal pensions into the Freetrade SIPP to consolidate pots; transfers from defined-benefit or safeguarded-benefit schemes are generally not accepted.
• Tax Handling: Basic-rate tax relief is claimed from HMRC by Freetrade and deposited into the SIPP; higher-rate tax relief must be claimed by the customer where applicable.
• Withdrawals & Access: Pensions are intended for retirement — withdrawals generally permitted from the regulated minimum pension age (currently aligned with statutory rules; check current ages before acting).
• Cash & Interest: Earn interest on uninvested cash (subject to product terms) and hold cash/gilts alongside equities for balanced risk.
• Mobile & Web Management: Full account and portfolio management via Freetrade’s mobile apps and web platform with priority support for SIPP customers on Plus.
• Promotions & Offers: Periodic transfer promotions (e.g., cashback offers tied to transfer amounts and plan subscriptions) — subject to terms and time limits.
• Regulatory & Risk Notices: Investments carry risk; product excludes some pension types and customers should seek independent financial advice for transfers or withdrawals.
