Overview

The Intellia Overhead Crane Simulator Training Pack delivers engineering-grade, immersive virtual training tailored to industrial steel manufacturing. It enables trainees to practice operating an overhead bridge crane with realistic behavior, multiple attachments (C-Hook, Coil Tong, Hoist Slab Tong), and authentic machine dynamics. By simulating complex scenarios in a warehouse setting, it helps enhance safety, accelerate operator proficiency, and reduce training time and cost. When integrated with Intellia Instructor, instructors can introduce interactive faults and monitor performance through detailed analytics.

Features and Capabilities

  • Multiple Attachments & Controls: Offers varied attachments (C-Hook, Coil Tong, Hoist Slab Tong) and multiple control schemes (cobra joysticks, lever box, pendant, remote belly box) to adapt to different training needs and hardware configurations.
  • Interactive Fault Injection: Allows instructors to introduce machine malfunctions and environmental distractions within training scenarios, preparing operators for unexpected challenges in a safe virtual environment.
  • Realistic, Open-Ended Scenarios: Training includes immersive, longer scenarios set in virtual warehouses, featuring realistic tasks like handling steel coils from conveyors and trucks, and slabs, enabling critical thinking and muscle memory development.
  • Performance Metrics & Analytics: Captures objective operator performance data—pendulum swings, cycles per hour, overloads, anti-two-block alarms, collisions—providing insights to refine training and improve safety.
  • Hardware Compatibility: Runs on CM Labs' Edge Plus, Edge Max, and Advantage simulation platforms. Control systems vary by hardware compatibility, with some advanced controls available only on Edge Plus and Advantage.
  • Engineering-Grade Machine Behavior: Built on CM Labs’ Vortex simulation engine, it simulates authentic mechanical behavior—cable sway, load dynamics, realistic motion—to deliver high fidelity and transferability to real equipment.
