Product details

OsiriX MD is a medical image viewer designed for macOS, offering high performance and an interactive user interface. It is certified for clinical use and provides advanced 2D and 3D post-processing techniques, including PET-CT and SPECT-CT support. The software fully supports the DICOM standard, ensuring easy integration into existing workflows and providing an open platform for the development of processing tools. OsiriX MD serves as both a comprehensive medical imaging workstation for radiology departments and a tool for general practitioners and surgeons to review patient scans and MRIs. It is a stand-alone software that installs quickly and does not require a specific environment to operate, allowing users to import images from PACS or directly from CDs or USB drives. OsiriX MD is FDA-cleared as a Class II Medical Device for diagnostic imaging and complies with European Directive 93/42/EEC as a Class IIa product. OsiriX MD includes an intuitive interface for displaying images, supporting high-quality interpolation and Retina screens. Users can add key images and regions of interest (ROIs), including lines, polygons, and 3D balls, and save them in the database. Convolution filters, such as bone or lung filters, can be applied to images. The software supports 4D images, such as cardiac or perfusion acquisitions, and parametric images, such as PET-CT images. Hanging Protocols with multiple screen support can also be defined. OsiriX MD offers modern post-processing techniques, including MPR (Multiplanar Reconstruction) and 3D Rendering (MIP, Volume Rendering, and Surface Rendering). It supports curved planar reconstruction (3D-MPR) for following organs like the aorta or bronchi. 3D reconstructions can be exported as movies and archived on PACS. OsiriX MD supports DICOM files and non-DICOM images, such as LSM, BioRadPIC, TIFF, ANALYZE, PNG, JPEG, PDF, Quicktime, AVI, and MPEG. It reads and displays all types of DICOM files from medical imaging modalities, including scanners, MRI, ultrasounds, and X-rays, along with associated DICOM fields like radiation dose and image position. DICOM files can be exported to CD/DVD or USB sticks with a stand-alone cross-platform viewer. The software uses a SQL database to store and index images, capable of managing millions of images. It can communicate with other equipment, including PACS servers, through the DICOM Network protocol, supporting compression algorithms and transfer syntaxes. OsiriX MD can send and receive DICOM files and print images on DICOM printers. OsiriX MD is optimized for Apple computers, utilizing multi-core processors and graphic board processors. Asynchronous reading allows for immediate display of images, even for large series. The software supports a dynamic plugin architecture for extending functions, allowing plugins to access image pixels as 32-bit float for manipulation and to create and manage windows using the Cocoa framework and OpenGL views.
