What is the One-to-Many solution in NetSuite?

One-to-Many solution is a custom NetSuite module designed to handle by/co-product manufacturing scenarios. It provides a centralized, automated system designed to streamline your production process, from initial setup to final assembly. The One-to-Many Application groups Work Orders into batches, which are then transformed into Assembly Builds for processing. NetSuite handles inventory and costing. This solution is compatible with standard or average costing, as well as NetSuite Inventory Management features, including bins and lot numbers. The module includes costing customizations that can distribute costs, such as labor, across the Work Order batch.

How does it work?

One-to-Many solution is built to handle the intricate process of converting “one” raw material into “many” components with precision and efficiency. The following are its main features:

Item Setup

The One-to-Many application supports Inventory Items and Assembly Items, which together enable flexible configuration for one-to-many product structures.

Cut Templates

Cut Templates are configured directly on the component item and specify how many units of each assembly are typically produced from one unit of the base component.

The BOM outlines the quantity of each Component Item (e.g., raw materials or ingredients) required to build the Assembly.

Generate production batches using your defined Cut Templates. Simply enter the "Original Quantity" of your raw material, and the system dynamically calculates the estimated output of all derived components.

Custom Costing

The One-to-Many module includes custom costing functionality to help automate the handling of non-One-to-Many Components, to automatically apply costs that are either:
