NovAtel® SPAN® Rail Profile is a GNSS receiver firmware enhancement designed to improve navigation performance in rail applications. It combines GNSS data with inertial measurements to deliver continuous and accurate position, velocity, and attitude—even during extended GNSS outages. Optimized for low-dynamic rail environments, the firmware uses intelligent rail dynamics modeling and patented Antenna Phase Windup technology to maintain reliable navigation. SPAN Rail Profile is compatible with all SPAN-supported Inertial Measurement Units (IMUs).
