Overview

The Intellia Mini Excavator Simulator Training Pack is the industry’s first dedicated simulation solution for mini excavator operators. It offers engineering-grade realism—faithfully reproducing hydraulic behavior, transmission, engine torque curves, vibrations, and tipping dynamics—to build muscle memory and develop safe, competent operators in a controlled virtual environment. The curriculum ranges from beginner drills like walkaround inspections and basic controls to advanced scenarios such as digging around underground utility lines, ramp loading, grading, and sandbox problem-solving. Objective performance metrics like safety violations, bucket fill percentage, soil spillage, idle time, and even grading empower instructors with actionable insights—all supported on platforms like Edge Plus, Edge Max, and Advantage.

Features and Capabilities

  • Engineering-grade realism: Meticulous simulation of hydraulics, engine torque curves, transmission behavior, vibrations, and unique tipping behavior to ensure skills transfer effectively to real-world operation.
  • Beginner-friendly curriculum: Structured progressive learning starting with walkaround inspection and controls familiarization, advancing to digging/grading techniques and safety protocols.
  • Advanced safety training: Scenarios include working around underground utility lines and side-loading operations—risks that are difficult to replicate safely in reality.
  • In-exercise teachable moments: The system provides immediate, contextual guidance during exercises to prevent negative training and support autonomous learning.
  • Rich performance metrics: Instructors can monitor safety violations (e.g. utility line strikes, vehicle tip-overs), average speed, bucket fill rate, soil spillage, idle time, and grading evenness.
  • Hardware compatibility: Compatible with CM Labs’ Edge Plus (portable desktop), Edge Max (compact motion-enabled), and Advantage (fully immersive) simulator platforms.
  • Flexible training environment: Includes a sandbox freeform mode for exploratory learning, critical thinking, and adaptability.
  • Safety-focused content: Designed to prepare operators for dense work environments, emphasizing situational awareness and high-risk hazard avoidance.
