Overview

The Ignition SQL Bridge Module by Inductive Automation brings the power of SQL databases to industrial processes. It allows users to leverage Ignition’s unlimited tags and database connections at a low cost, even without extensive SQL knowledge. The module acts as a "Swiss Army Knife" for integrating programmable logic controllers (PLCs) and SQL databases, enabling bidirectional data flow, logging, synchronization, recipe and batching systems, and process sequencing.

• Bidirectional Data Flow: Uses transaction groups to function as a bidirectional data bridge between an OPC server and a SQL database. Perform tasks like event logging, data storage, and inserting rows into tables.
• Easy Data Logging: Includes triggers, handshakes, expressions, and other items to store data in the exact way needed. Map process data to any table structure and let the module manage tables.
• PLC Synchronization: Extend PLC address space into SQL databases with bidirectional mirroring, reflecting value changes in real-time. Set update rates for rows/fields and create two-dimensional arrays.
• Recipe & Batching Systems: Create robust, customized recipe and batching systems with full bidirectional access. Store and modify recipes in the database, tracking changes historically.
• Process Sequencing: Sequence entire processes using flexible triggers and database tables. Use dynamic references to step indexes to rows of values written to PLCs.
• Flexible and Easy to Use: Online editing allows changes without stopping processes. Automatically create tables, columns, and more in any format. Work entirely within the Ignition Designer.
