Overview

GeoCore SDK is a comprehensive geospatial data conversion API developed by Blue Marble Geographics. It enables developers to embed powerful coordinate transformation and extensive file format translation capabilities into their geospatial software applications. GeoCore includes the proven GeoCalc SDK along with the ability to handle both raster and vector file format and geometry manipulation.

Features and Capabilities

  • GeoCalc SDK Integration: Provides a fully object-oriented class library for software developers, relying upon an XML data source, containing EPSG (European Petroleum Survey Group), and providing support for WKT (well-known text). It includes new tools for improving data quality management from a development level and supports a variety of development environments and platforms. GeoCalc supports custom definitions and coordinate system databases.
  • GeoTranslate Module: Allows users to read and write many of today's most popular GIS vector file formats. Users have direct access to a wide variety of geometry objects, which can be created and manipulated on-the-fly, along with associated metadata and attributes. GeoTranslate is available for Windows and Linux.
  • GeoTransform Module: Enables raster image file transformation, manipulation, and translation. Users can read, write, compress, and manipulate many standard GIS raster image file formats, including non-visual raster datasets such as DEMs, DTEDs, and raster binary grids. It offers functionality to render images to a standard Window handle, powerful mosaicking and tiling capabilities, and clipping interfaces to manage and process large datasets.
  • Comprehensive Coordinate Transformation: Utilizes the GeoCalc library, providing access to the largest commercially available coordinate conversion data source, including the latest EPSG database. This ensures accurate and up-to-date coordinate transformations.
  • Cross-Platform Support: GeoCore SDK is available for multiple platforms, including Windows and Linux, and supports various programming languages, facilitating integration into diverse development environments.
