Flexible Exchange Options (FLEX) are customized option contract packages, originally created by the CBOE for OTC Index options, primarily utilized as portfolio hedging tools. This offering provides end-of-day data detailing the composition of FLEX symbols available on the previous trading day. The data is delivered in multiple files, including FLEX Ext, which contains listing exchange participant codes to identify the exchange that listed each FLEX option. New in September 2023, FLEX Intraday files supplement the nightly data with hourly updates on FLEX strike additions from 9 am to 4 pm Eastern, also including participant exchange information. Additionally, FLEXCorpAct files alert users to corporate actions affecting underlying option symbols, leveraging standard options corporate action content to anticipate changes in related FLEX options. FLEX Open Interest files, generated in the evening, provide open interest data for all FLEX options. Data is delivered daily via SFTP in TXT format.
