Product details

Drawing Board is a Windows CAD application for drawing residential and commercial floor plans and duct layouts with realistic double-line walls, windows, doors, ducts, fittings, and HVAC symbols, providing accurate dimensioning, dynamic zoom/pan, multi-story support, and English/metric units. It imports PDFs, DXF, and other graphics, exports WMF for use in AutoCAD and other CAD tools, prints to any size at any scale, and allows custom user-defined shapes and title blocks. The software works as a component within Elite’s Chvac, Rhvac, and Ductsize programs, can automatically convert a manually entered Rhvac project into a drawing-based project, and connects with Elite’s Bill of Materials to calculate material and labor costs.

Key Features

Full CAD capabilities for HVAC plans Draw detailed building and duct geometries.

  • Draws residential and commercial floor plans and duct layouts with double-line elements.
  • Provides accurate dimension lines, dynamic zooming/panning, and English/metric units.

Realistic ductwork and HVAC symbols Produce constructible duct designs.

  • Creates realistic double-line ductwork and fittings; supports conventional, high velocity, and ductless mini-split heads.
  • Includes symbols for AHUs, triangle/quad boxes, transfer grilles, and jump ducts.

Flexible modeling and customization Adapt drawings to project needs.

  • Allows rooms with any number of walls, odd angles, and multiple stories.
  • Supports user-defined custom shapes, borders, notes, and title blocks.

Interoperability and output Fit into existing CAD/BIM workflows.

  • Imports from PDF, DXF, and other graphics; exports WMF for AutoCAD and other CAD programs.
  • Prints any size drawing at any desired scale.

Integration with Elite HVAC software Streamline calculations and costing.

  • Works within Chvac, Rhvac, and Ductsize; can convert manual Rhvac projects to drawing-based projects.
  • Works with Bill of Materials to calculate material and labor costs.

Benefits

Faster HVAC design documentation Reduce drafting time and rework.

  • Drag-and-draw floor plans and duct layouts with built-in HVAC symbols and fittings.
  • Accurate dimensions and scaling support precise takeoffs and coordination.

Consistent, calculation-ready drawings Improve calculation accuracy.

  • Drawing-based inputs flow into Chvac/Rhvac/Ductsize, minimizing data re-entry.
  • Realistic double-line ducts and symbols align with downstream load and duct sizing.

Seamless workflow with existing tools Integrate with common formats and processes.

  • PDF/DXF import and WMF export ease collaboration with CAD users.
  • Links to Bill of Materials for material and labor cost calculations from the same drawings.
