Overview
CenTrak’s Contact Tracing is an automated, clinical-grade solution that uses real-time location data from staff, patients, and tagged equipment to generate accurate contact histories and exposure reports within seconds. The system captures room-level movements, interaction duration, and device usage so infection-prevention teams can quickly identify direct, secondary, and tertiary exposures, target testing and cleaning, notify affected individuals, and limit operational disruption without manual interviews.
Features and Capabilities
- Contact history and exposure reporting: CenTrak builds exportable contact-history logs showing who was in proximity to whom, including location, timestamps, and exposure duration, so infection-prevention teams can identify direct, secondary, and tertiary contacts quickly.
- Movement history & map playback: Movement history reports and map playback recreate patient, staff, and asset movement over a selected timeframe to review events, timelines, and room occupancy with replay speed controls for rapid investigation.
- Area activity history: Exportable reports show all people and tagged assets for a given room or area with enter/exit timestamps to calculate exposure windows and guide targeted cleaning or quarantining actions.
- Patient log viewer: Per-patient views allow administrators to filter a patient’s room visits and interactions, including exact duration in areas, to quantify exposure risk and support testing or quarantine decisions.
- Clinical-grade location accuracy: Uses CenTrak’s precision RTLS technologies (Wi-Fi, BLE, Gen2IR™, LF, UHF depending on environment) to deliver room-, bay-, or station-level accuracy and rapid condition updates.
- Scalable, multi-use RTLS platform: The same RTLS infrastructure supports other infection-prevention functions—such as electronic hand-hygiene monitoring and environmental monitoring—as well as asset management, workforce workflow, and device tracking, reducing infrastructure overhead.
- Device and wearable portfolio: Supports single-use patient tags, reusable staff badges, duress badges, infant/newborn tags, small asset tags, and configurable button tags to capture events and custom workflow triggers.
- Integration & ROI optimization: Integrates with EMR and other hospital IT systems so contact-tracing data can be combined with clinical records for faster, higher-confidence responses and measurable ROI.
- Implementation & managed services: Includes consulting, workflow design, and managed services to select appropriate technologies, define deployment patterns, and assist with maintenance for optimal system performance.
- Rapid notification & operational benefits: Enables near-instant identification and notification of exposed staff and patients, supports targeted cleaning and isolation, reduces manual tracing labor, minimizes facility closures, and lowers HAI-related costs.
