Activation center (ACEN) is a full-featured ASP.NET web application designed for comprehensive management of clients, software products (applications), orders, and licenses. It provides a flexible and automated activation system specifically tailored for programs protected with the PC Guard Software Protection System family of products. This solution streamlines the entire licensing lifecycle for software vendors. The system offers a robust administrator interface, allowing authorized users to add, modify, and delete information pertaining to products, clients, orders, and both standard and web licenses. Administrators can also manage database users, groups, and authorization profiles, review audit logs for compliance, and configure specific activation rules to suit their business needs. For end-users, a dedicated client interface provides 24/7 online access to manage their licenses. Clients can activate, reactivate, remove, and transfer licenses, as well as update their personal information. The system also supports client account creation and new order submission with valid serial numbers, if this feature is enabled by the administrator. ACEN supports two primary licensing models: the Standard licensing model, where each license is uniquely identified by customer, order, and product details, requiring valid client account and order data within the activation center; and the Web licensing model, which simplifies the process by identifying each license solely by a product and serial number pair, eliminating the need for client or order data. This model allows for single or multiple licenses to be granted per serial number. Furthermore, the platform includes a Web API, enabling automated management of clients, orders, users, and both standard and web licenses, facilitating integration with other business systems. For enhanced security, compliance, and privacy, Activation center supports on-premises deployment, ensuring all critical data is hosted on the user's own server.
