1NCE OS Device Authenticator1NCE

Simplifies IoT device authentication and provisioning by leveraging SIM card identification for secure cloud integration.

Product details

The 1NCE OS Device Authenticator addresses the challenge of creating digital twins for connected products, which is crucial for data communication. Traditionally, this process during manufacturing is logistically complex, requiring modifications to assembly lines, making it maintenance-intensive, costly, and prone to errors. This solution simplifies the device provisioning and onboarding process without requiring any changes to production lines. By utilizing the SIM card as a unique identifier, it leverages secure mobile network authentication techniques, similar to those used by smartphones. The Device Authenticator uses the SIM card's ICCID as a fingerprint to onboard IoT devices. This approach allows IT infrastructure to trust a single managed service rather than individual devices. To use the authenticator, a SIM card is inserted into the device (compatible with all form factors: 2FF, 3FF, 4FF, or MFF2). Telemetry data from the device is then received via the IoT Integrator. An optional management protocol can be used to receive notifications when new SIM cards are purchased and new devices are onboarded into the system.

Features & Benefits

  • SIM Card as Unique Identifier: Leverages the SIM card's ICCID as a fingerprint for IoT device onboarding and authentication.
  • Simplified Provisioning: Eliminates the need for complex device deployment and onboarding processes, requiring no changes to production lines.
  • Secure Cloud Integration: Enables secure data communication by creating a digital twin for each connected product.
  • No Integration Required: Authenticates and provisions devices without complex IT infrastructure integration.
  • Trust in Managed Service: IT infrastructure only needs to trust the managed service, not each individual device.
